Cheerleader, Prom Queen, Greaser Or Square

Richard Vaughn founded Arvee Records in Los Angeles in 1959, and thanks in part to some great productions by H.B. Barnum and Marty Cooper he had hits right out of the box with frat party R&B acts like the Olympics and the Marathons. Party R&B tracks (often with deliberate novelty appeal) remained the label's bread and butter but Arvee also dabbled in rock & roll, doo wop, and surf music. These two tracks come from the 2006 Empire Records compilation CD 'West Coast Sock Hop' and I must admit it comes highly recommended by your Rock & Roll Doctor as every track is a cracker.
