Diddley Is The Daddy

"I opened the door for a lot of people, and they just ran through and left me holding the knob".
Welcome to the world of Bo Diddley.
The world of Bo, Bo the Orginator, Bo the Legend, Bo the Primal Rocker !
'Rare & Well Done' was issued in 1991 as a kind of unofficial supplement to his massive Chess Box Set and the LP featured tracks from 1955-1968 and it was a treat to find some obscure, odd and alternative releases hidden within his exhaustive recorded history.

Following Bo we have The Rovin' Flames who I have featured before in August 2006 with their classic garage punker single 'I Can't' but this Tampa, Florida band also released their version of 'Bo Diddley' in June 1966. The track can be found on the Crypt Records compilation 'Teenage Shutdown Vol 15.

Finally you can find the Temptations take on the Bo Diddley beat on 'Garage Punk Unknowns Part One'.
