The Kindness Of Strangers

Many song titles have a little bit of 'kind' in them and for today's post I have picked four diverse tracks that feature this aspect. I begin with Charles Arthur Feathers who was originally from Holly Springs, Mississippi. A giant in early Rockabilly and Hillbilly recorded history and one artist I am ashamed to admit I have not featured previously in this blog. This version of 'Honky Tonk Kind' was an unissued demo that can be found on Revenant Records superb 1998 career spanning release 'Get With It'.

I follow Charlie with Little Monty Jones and his track from the compilation ' The Big Rumble (Killer Dillers)', Vol 5. Following on in third are 60's songwriting duo, Jeff Barry and Ellie Greenwich for whose group The Raindrops, this track was a minor hit in 1963. Lastly the better known Chris Montez whose hit 'Let's Dance' is a pop classic, his featured track was his follow up single which made the UK top ten in 1962.
Enjoy.......................................
